What You'll Learn
This course covers the essential skills of roped climbing for beginners in a supportive and encouraging environment. We'll teach you how to belay on a bottom-rope, just like you would on an indoor wall. You'll learn to:
- Fit a helmet and harness properly
- Use a belay device, such as a Grigri or an ATC
- Tie a figure of 8 knot securely
- Climb confidently on an in situ rope
- Use a guidebook and understand route grades
- Build confidence in a women-only setting

The Waterbabes
The Waterbabes are an adventure and wellness community based in Dorset, powered by the wind and obsessed with foiling. They're all about braving the elements for the ultimate reset of mind, body and soul. Founded by Amber, they create genuine community through accessible sessions for women and non-binary people, helping people find lifelong friends through the joy of learning together on the water.

Due to our limited number of helmets, we're unable to let spectators onto this session.
This course is exclusively for women and non-binary people aged 18 or over. All participants must be fit enough to walk 2km and climb a ladder.
